An intensive floristry course designed for beginners wishing to pursue a career in floristry.
This introduction to all things blooms will cover everything you need to know to kick-start your floristry journey - from seasonal flower selection, arranging, working with suppliers and some tip and tricks for building up your business - this jam packed course will inspire and give you all the confidence you need to get started!

The Introduction to Floristry is held at our Workshop 10:00 am - 4:00 pm in the heart of Yorkshire. All material and tools are included, as are refreshments & lunch. Please let us know any dietary requirements.
An intensive floristry course designed for beginners wishing to pursue a career in floristry. The course is run over 5 days where you will learn the basics of when and how to look after, condition and care for flowers. What to look for when buying flowers and where to get them. You will then progress during the week finishing with the expert advice of how to start your career.

Day One – Flowers for the home or corporate contract
Intro to floristry, how to buy, how to condition. Learning about all types of flowers and foliages. You will learn what to buy each season. Stems types and what to look out for. You will create beautiful seasonal hand-tied bouquet of luxury flowers and learn how to package it. You will also create a floral arrangement in foam in a container.
Day Two – Wedding Flowers
You will learn the basics of how to approach the wonderful world of wedding flowers! You will to learn how to create a beautiful hand tied wedding bouquet, buttonholes and a flower crown. You will learn wiring techniques and wedding essentials.
Day Three – Funeral Flowers
You will learn how to create beautiful and tasteful florals for funeral orders. You will create casket sprays, tied sheaf and mossed funeral pieces.
Day Four – Arrangements
Using floral foam and chicken wire you will create a series of floral arrangements in various containers. You will learn creative styling for your arrangements and add finishing touches.
Day Five – Setting up as a florist
Flower market visit, we show you how to choose your flowers and how the market works. You will learn how to plan flower orders, delivering flower orders, marketing, a social media expert will start you on your new journey and we will show you how to network to get your business of the ground.
