Blooming with Intention: Our Wedding Floristry Workshop featuring Denton Reserve

A stunning table scape at Denton Reserve

This summer, we welcomed a group of passionate floristry students to join us for a two-day immersive experience in wedding floristry — a workshop designed to deepen creative skills, explore sustainable design techniques, and celebrate the art of storytelling through flowers.

Hosted by Leafy Couture, our Wedding Portfolio Builder  was held at our workshop with the second day moving into the beautiful, newly refurbished Denton Reserve for a styled editorial photoshoot to showcase everyone’s floral creations. We chose Denton as it is a timeless Yorkshire venue with elegant period detailing and sweeping spaces that set the perfect stage for large-scale floral design.

A Two-Day Journey into Floral Design

Over two creative, flower-filled days, our students were guided through a series of hands-on sessions exploring signature wedding installations. Each design was created using sustainable techniques — no floral foam, just mindful mechanics and eco-friendly structures.

Collaboratively between us and the students we created:

  •  Floor-standing meadows full of texture and movement

  •  Statement urn arrangements balancing scale and romance

  • Staircase décor weaving florals into architectural beauty

  • Floral columns perfect for framing ceremony spaces

Each session focused not only on mechanics, but also on composition, colour stories, and balance.

A Styled Photoshoot to Capture the Magic

To conclude the workshop, we brought all of the arrangements together in a styled editorial photoshoot, designed to give our attendees a professional portfolio of images - and the confidence to showcase their work.

Working alongside a talented creative team, we transformed the elegant interiors of Denton Reserve into a floral wonderland. The shoot was captured beautifully by Fiona Lewis Photography with ready to go content from content by Meg, styled by Freya Croisdale, with concept and floral design by Leafy Couture.

Our models wore exquisite gowns from The Aisle, adding a touch of bridal romance to each scene. Every detail — from the lush lilac meadows to the sweeping greenery around the fireplace — told a story of natural beauty, artistry, and collaboration.

More Than Flowers: Building Confidence and Community

Beyond the blooms, this workshop was about connection — bringing together florists who share a passion for growth, creativity, and sustainability.

Our students left not only with new techniques and professional imagery, but with fresh inspiration and friendships that will continue to bloom throughout their careers.

Huge thanks to our students: Pretty Busy Blooms, Bonnie Bunches, Buffy Blooms, Bramble and Blossom, The Wilding Society
