Vase Workshop with Betty's Cookery School

There’s something special about being invited to create in a space known for craftsmanship, heritage, and attention to detail—and that’s exactly what we set out to do during our recent flower vase workshop at Betty’s (a truly Yorkshire institution)

As part of their seasonal campaign celebrating their cookery school, we were invited to design and deliver a floral experience that reflected the same care, creativity, and beauty that defines their brand. Our focus was simple: to showcase how thoughtful floral design can elevate an occasion or space.

For this workshop, we created a fresh, spring-inspired vase arrangement that balanced softness, movement, and texture. Using a carefully curated palette of tulips, narcissi, ranunculus, stocks, mimosa, and viburnum, we guided attendees through the principles that underpin our work—natural composition, colour harmony, and letting each stem shine.

Rather than rigid structure, we encouraged a loose, garden feel. Tulips brought elegance and movement, narcissi added a delicate nod to the season, while ranunculus layered in richness and depth. Stocks introduced a gentle fragrance, mimosa offered lightness and warmth, and viburnum created that all-important airy framework that ties an arrangement together.
