Middleton Lodge - a magical autumnal dream of a wedding

We are so super lucky in Yorkshire that we are spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning venues, but there are some that are just a little bit special and make us think ‘If I were to get married again….’ and Middleton Lodge is DEFINITELY one of the venues.

Stunning Middleton Lodge

So imagine our joy when the most gorgeous sounding enquiry from Lianne at Blonde Army dropped into our inbox - a beautiful intimate staircase ceremony followed by a bright vibrant colourful fig house part - yes please! Especially when we knew the day would be captured so beautifully by the amazing talents of Barnaby Aldrick

The brief came in two parts - timeless elegance with a palette of whites and greens for the staircase ceremony followed by a bright vibrant party atmosphere for the Fig House in sunset tones.

Middleton Lodge Staircase Ceremony with autumnal foliages in fresh greens and white florals

The brief for the Ceremony in the main house was to create a stunning focal point on the staircase, the couple wanted it to feel natural, organic and to be growing up the staircase, complete with twinkly glass baubles. We created wild growing floor standing meadows for the base of the stairs. Abundant at the bottom then gradually growing up the steps and thinning out to more delicate foliages. The perfect elegant I Do setting.

What made this brief super fun was the switch between the timeless green and white of the ceremony to the bright Autumnal colour parade that the reception offered.

An abundant foliage cloud with autumnal florals and loads of colour was the wow factor for the room, adorned with twinkly fairy lights to create beautiful ambient lighting as the sun went down. We also re-purposed the ceremony floral urns by replacing the white florals with matching bright vibrant oranges, pinks, plums and abundant autumn foliages and textures

The table centres were a low, floral dense and abundant arrangement in vibrant oranges, pinks, plums and abundant autumn foliages and textures with walnuts, pomegranates ( cut open), figs, grapes and other fruit touches on the table.

A look through into the Middleton Lodge Fig House

As a florist it was just so fun to be able to work with two different vibes for the same wedding and also creating clear defined differences between the ceremony and the party. We can’t wait to be flowering here again soon. If you are getting married at Middleton Lodge and want to chat more about all your flowery ideas then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
