Freelancer Terms & Conditions
1. ENGAGEMENT STATUS
The Freelancer is engaged on a self-employed, freelance basis. Nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to create an employment relationship, partnership, or joint venture.
The Freelancer is responsible for their own:
Tax and National Insurance
Public liability insurance (where applicable)
Any other obligations arising from self-employment
2. SCOPE OF WORK (WEDDINGS & EVENTS)
The Freelancer may be engaged to assist with wedding and event floristry, including but not limited to:
Floral preparation and conditioning
Wedding and event installations
Venue styling and breakdown
On-site floral support during weddings
Other duties reasonably related to wedding floristry
Work is offered on an ad-hoc basis. There is no guarantee of minimum hours or future bookings.
3. PLACE OF WORK
The place of work (venue/location) will be agreed in advance for each booking. Locations may vary and can include early starts, long days, weekends, and travel to wedding venues.
4. HOURS OF WORK
The Freelancer acknowledges that wedding work often requires long and variable hours.
The Freelancer agrees to work more than 8 hours in a single day when required by the event schedule
Breaks will be provided where reasonably possible, but flexibility is essential due to the nature of weddings
Overtime rates, if applicable, will be agreed in advance
Hours of work will be agreed in advance, however when on site these may change depending on the scope of work / events outside of our control
5. TRAVEL & FOOD
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
The Freelancer is responsible for their own travel costs to and from the agreed place of work
The Freelancer is responsible for providing their own food and refreshments
Any exceptions must be discussed and agreed in advance of the booking.
6. CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS
Leafy Couture reserves the right to cancel a freelance booking up to two (2) weeks prior to the agreed date without penalty.
In the event of cancellation within two weeks, Leafy Couture will endeavour to provide notice as soon as reasonably possible, though payment is not guaranteed unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
Leafy Couture prides itself on professionalism and high standards, particularly within the wedding industry. While on site, the Freelancer agrees to:
Act professionally and courteously at all times
Be respectful to clients, venues, planners, and suppliers
Refrain from offensive or coarse language
Smoke or vape only in designated areas
Follow all venue rules and instructions
Dress appropriately for weddings and events
Any accidents, incidents, or concerns must be reported immediately to the named Leafy Couture contact on site.
Failure to meet these standards may result in termination of the engagement and exclusion from future work.
8. HEALTH & SAFETY
The Freelancer agrees to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, and to comply with all health and safety procedures set out by Leafy Couture and/or the venue.
9. PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA
The Freelancer may take photographs for personal reference or private enjoyment only.
No images or videos may be shared online or on social media without prior written consent from the Leafy Couture region you are working for
Images must not be shared until they have been shared by both the venue and Leafy Couture
If permission is granted, all imagery must:
Credit Leafy Couture (region)
State that the work was completed as a freelancer for Leafy Couture (region)
Tag Leafy Couture (region) where applicable
10. NON-COMPETE
During any engagement with Leafy Couture and for six (6) months following the last date worked, the Freelancer agrees not to:
Contact Leafy Couture Clients directly to provide wedding or event floristry services
Undercut, replace, or compete with Leafy Couture for weddings or events where they were introduced through Leafy Couture
This restriction applies only to clients, venues, or weddings the Freelancer became aware of through their work with Leafy Couture.
11. NON-SOLICITATION
The Freelancer agrees that during the engagement and for six (6) months thereafter, they will not:
Solicit or attempt to solicit Leafy Couture clients for their own business
Accept direct bookings from Leafy Couture clients introduced during freelance work
Promote their own floristry services to clients, planners, or venues while representing Leafy Couture
12. CONFIDENTIALITY
All client information, pricing, designs, schedules, and business practices are confidential and must not be shared during or after the engagement.
13. TERMINATION
Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time. Leafy Couture reserves the right to terminate immediately in cases of misconduct, breach of contract, or unsafe behaviour.
14. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
15. AGREEMENT & SIGNATURE
By completing the below and agreeing to the terms, the Freelancer confirms they have read, understood, and agree to this Agreement.
